what i'm doing now

now that i'm two months old, i've decided to add some new things to my repertoire. for example, now when i babble, it sounds more like words than like grunts and snorts. and i grab at my toys and pull them to my face. of course, once i get them there i have to cry so someone will come get the toy off my face. i haven't quite worked that out yet. in the last few days, i also noticed that there are these furry things living here with us. the orange and white one likes to sniff my head, and i think he tried to put his hand on me, but mommy stopped him. i don't know why. something about claws.

i've learned how to check my email and saw that there was a message in there from grandpa bev and grandma di. i can't wait for them to come back. they said that a penguin wants to come live with us. will the orange and white furry thing like it? what is it?

on tuesday, mommy took me to a place where they POKED ME IN THE LEGS. so i screamed, natch. and turned red like a little, angry tomato. but when i was there, they weighed me and i now weigh 12 pounds 15 ounces, and am 23.5 inches long. i'm in the 75th to 90th percentile for my weight and length.

mommy and daddy found a new trick to make me calm when i'm crying. they take me in the bathroom, and they run that indoor waterfall thing. daddy was very relieved, and so was the bank account, though, when he figured out that if you turn the TV on and let it be snowy, i'll calm down with that, too.

we went for a walk today! first time in forever but mommy says it's because before it was winter and now it's spring. for now anyways.

anyways, here's two more pictures. mommy and daddy have been taking more video than taking photos lately. so hopefully there'll be a new video up soon.

this hoodie thing, it tried to eat me. some clothes are cute. some are practical. rarely are they both.

my very first cold

a few days ago, a bunch of people came over and they gave me lots of presents. mommy says that uncle shane, and auntie mandy and auntie crystal threw me a party. i think that's mighty nice of them. mommy also says that now i have more clothes than i know what to do with. but she forgets that i never really knew what to do with clothes to begin with. clothes are her department.

yesterday, great aunt betty and auntie kathleen came over. they sure are nice. i even tried to stop fussing for five minutes, just for them.

turns out i was fussy because i have an ear infection. i don't know what that is but mommy and daddy took me to this place, where this really mean man stuck things in my ears and then we left and then i had to take this yummy sweet stuff and then i sat in my swing and mommy and daddy were relieved because it was really the first time i seemed happy all day.

but anyways, here are some pictures of me.

this is from today. mom made me wear this outfit because it would keep my head warm. and it did! but i felt kind of silly. i'm too old for ears on my clothes, okay mom?


i love being read to. i laugh and wiggle and coo and stare at whoever is reading.

anyways, i gotta go. i just put my finger into my mouth and realized i might be hungry. mommy is glad because that means maybe i'll go to sleep. ha! i've got her fooled!
