four months, first trip to the cabin

last friday, i turned four months old.

i didn't post because mommy and daddy had taken me on my first ever trip away from home. we went to this place they called the cabin. it was in the mountains. uncle shane and auntie jodi were there and so was my bed, so i wasn't afraid. okay, well i was afraid a little bit of the ceiling fan.

this past month i've gotten to be a happy, giggly baby. i smile lots, especially at pretty girls. and i will play by myself on the floor for a little bit, turning myself in circles so i can play with all the toys. and this past weekend, i tried really hard to roll myself over from my back to my tummy, but i kept getting stuck on my face. not sure why that happened.

now i babble at my toys. and i don't need to be swaddled to sleep. because only babies get swaddled to sleep. i found these things that someone told me are my feet, so i hang on to them in case they try to get away.

mommy and i went to playgroup last week. it was fun! the big kids are really big, though, and loud, so i just sit on mommy's lap and watch. this morning we went, and one of the big kids accidentally smacked me in the face. but i was brave and only made a little pout.

here's my four month picture with wicket. i am so big. i have no pants on because it was very very hot at the cabin on friday.

and a bunch of pictures from this weekend:

this is when they put my toes in the lake. the lake is like the bathtub, only way way bigger. it was cold. i only cried a little bit. but then i was scared that they were going to put me back into the lake, so i kept my eye on it.

this is my jolly jumper. i am not quite sure what i am supposed to do with it.

on the way home we stopped in this place called banff, and wandered around the castle. then we came out to this thing called bow falls. i kept an eye on the water, there, too, because there was no way i was getting in THAT.

it's hard to be little and have no control over the stupid pictures your parents take of you.

blue steel, noel style

so i hope you are all ready to just stare at pictures of me. because there are lots of them.

mommy and daddy have a friend named al, and he is a very funny guy. they like him alot, and i can't wait to meet him. in the meantime, i was looking at some pictures of him, and was SO inspired by his modeling that i decided to try it myself.

first, here's a sampling of his photo shoot:

and now here are some of mine:

what do you think? i owe all my talent to him, i think. look at his sad face! truly breathtaking.

let's move on, shall we?

when i grow up, i want to be like daddy. this is mommy's keyboard, though. i spat up on daddy's.

this is me and mommy at the opening ceremonies of the CMSA 2006 season. i had so much fun bouncing up and down to the music they played on the loudspeakers. mommy was surprised because she didn't think i'd like the noise at all.

these are pictures from my first time out of my stroller at the park. it was a nice day so mommy and daddy took me for a walk and then we sat on the swing and the bench. it was nice.

i still can't figure out how to get this thing in my mouth at the same time as my hand is in there. i try all the time, though.

see this thing? that's my HAND. seriously, it's the best.

so. many. pictures.

last thursday, at grandma and grandpa's house, i rolled over from my tummy to my back. mommy got really excited and clapped and made me do it again. it was easy. my head is heavy, so i just have to tilt far enough in one direction and it does the rest of the work.

the best toys in the world are my hands. they are SO amazing. and on the weekend, mommy and daddy and i went to the birth class reunion, and my hands were attached to another baby named luke, who was born the day before i was. i touched them and then i was confused. four hands!? hmm.

mommy and daddy and i went for a walk and i got to get out of my stroller at the park. that was pretty neat. the air was warm and i got to look around alot.

anyways. here are soooo many pictures of me. so many.

this is my three month picture with wicket. i'm so big that now i can sit up with him!

but i know this is the way we're supposed to do it.

shakespeare really wanted to show how big she is, too.

i like cuddles from daddy.

and his glasses.

this picture is so embarrassing.

i helped daddy to deal the hands at poker night.

mommy and daddy bought this jersey for me when they were in san francisco. well, i was there, too, but not there there. okay, now i'm confused again.

i got to go to my first softball game! it was so much fun. i liked to watch through the window of the truck, because the wind was blowing in my face a bit.
